“This course provided a delightful experience to network with like-minded individuals.”

I have taken courses in research for my PhD requirements but some topics were difficult to understand. This course filled in the gaps. It also provided a delightful experience to network with like-minded national and international individuals. I would recommend this course to anyone who has an interest in understanding research methods and learning how to find research in yoga and mind/body technology. Thank you for a great course!

“This course gave me the tools that I needed to find not only good yoga therapy research but also other research that supports my work as a school psychologist.”

If you haven't had a chance to take a course or see Dr. Julie Staples present research on the effects of yoga it is a must. I wasn't sure how much depth we would get into as far as understanding research as it pertains to yoga but we covered everything! This course gave me the tools that I needed to find not only good yoga therapy research but also other research that supports my work as a school psychologist. Thanks again Julie!

“Research Demystified”

As an educator bringing yoga into public schools, I wanted to understand the yoga research so that I could have the language I needed to talk with administrators. This course demystified research so that I can now speak about it. It also gave me the skills to find the research I need without feeling overwhelmed. Julie explains the basics with ease and teaches the course in an engaging manner.

Sat Nam Kaur Khalsa, M.Ed. Educator, Yoga Teacher, and Founder of Learning from the Heart Millbury, MA

“Given me the skills to present solid evidence to medical professionals.”

As a yoga teacher and yoga therapist in an academic medical center, my goals are to provide my clients with evidence-based practices and enable clinicians to make confident patient referrals to my classes. Julie's lively teaching style warmly invites you in to what seems like a daunting topic, and makes it really interesting. Learning how to search the scientific literature has given me the skills to confidently approach any topic and present solid evidence in presentations to medical and scientific professionals. Clinicians and researchers are increasingly interested in yoga and like to know that, as a teacher, I can speak their language and understand their concerns. As part of my Kundalini Yoga Therapy training, Julie's courses have been enjoyable and invaluable in helping me professionally.
